If you would like to have a more relaxed approach to detoxing then you could just introduce more fruits and vegetables to your diet - organic if possible as these contain fewer toxins, reduce or cut out alcohol and caffeine for a few weeks, as well as introducing more fish and white meats such as turkey and chicken into your diet.

Ginger is one of the most powerful herbs, and has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, having anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer and antioxidant activities. As it is considered one the best detoxifying herbs, and it is frequently used in detox diets.

Lemon is said to aid the immune system, clears skin, improves mood, helps to flush out toxins, helps with weight loss, hydrate the lymph system and can even help freshen your breath.

A great way to combine these two amazing compounds for detoxing is by making a lemon and ginger drink, just squeeze half a lemon into a glass of cooled, boiled water and finely grate in a thumb size portion of ginger, stir and then drink.

Some people like to just drink this for 24 to 48 hours, stating that it can help the body go into a repair mode and will help to make your body more efficient in the way that it uses foods. Or simply just replace your morning cup of tea or coffee, with lemon and ginger, for a couple of weeks to feel the benefits.
