Here are some more tips on how you can cut down your energy consumption in your home:

• Only fill your kettle up with the amount of water you are going to use – making a cup of tea then fill the kettle with water from your cup
• Close your curtains at dusk, double lined curtains are best for keeping in the heat
• If you are loosing heating up an open fireplace then insert an energy saving balloon, this will stop your homes heat from disappearing up the chimney
• Turn your heating thermostat down to 21c, put on extra layers of clothing
• If you have hard floors throughout your home then put down some rugs to absorb the heat
