Movember – Introducing Move

October 29th 2015
By: Melanie

It’s nearly that time again when men throughout the world grow moustaches for Movember in order to raise money and awareness for cancer related illnesses. The Movember Foundation started in 2003 and has inspired millions of men and women globally to join the movement to bring men’s health issues to public attention. They have raised £402 million to date and funded over 1,000 breakthrough’s in men’s health across 21 countries.

Men generally don’t like to talk about illness and die too young, this charity wants to prevent that from happening. Every Movember men are encouraged to grow moustaches supported by women; this movement prompts men and women to talk about men’s health and related illnesses.

‘Mo Sistas’ can do something tangible to help raise money this year they are also introducing MOVE, a month-long commitment to get active for men’s health. Thirty moves in thirty days, and how you move is entirely up to you, it can be a big work out every day, walking 30 minutes, a game of ping pong or a bike ride, it’s up to you. For ‘Mo Bros’ it can either be a new challenge, or they can do both.

The best way to get involved is to:

• Sign up at Movember.com
• Choose either to grow and groom a moustache, or to commit to 30 MOVEs in 30 days.
• Alternatively, make a donation at Movember.com - you can donate to a ‘Mo Bro’ or ‘Mo Sista's’ efforts, or donate directly to the Movember Foundation

Funds go towards supporting innovative world-class men’s health programs supporting four key areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.
