Easy Homemade Pasta Recipe

April 15th 2014

Pasta is one of the easiest things to make if you have an electric mixer, there are all types of recipes available but we find the easiest one is this:

500g of strong flour, if you don't have strong flour then just use plain flour
5 eggs
Semolina for dusting

1.)    Just add all this to your mixer and blend for about 3 minutes, then remove and finish needing on a floured surface until the consistency is smooth and elastic. Then wrap it in cling film and put in the fridge to rest.

2.)    Once it has rested make a cut along the top left to right and separate into four sections, then if you have a pasta roller (if you decide to make pasta regularly then this is an essential bit of kit), roll it through about 3 times until it goes thin, and then put it on the cut section.

3.)    If you are rolling by hand use a rolling pin until it goes as thin as possible, coating the mix with the semolina once you have finished to stop it from sticking. Forming into a long strip then cut into strips with a sharp knife.

4.)    Once you have made your pasta you will just need to add it to boiling hot water for around 3 minutes until cooked.
