After the wettest June in history, most of us have been having to top up the heating in our homes, with the unpredictable UK weather, it is very difficult to predict from one day to the next when we will need to turn the heating on.

A new app for Smart phones from British Gas enables home owners to be in control when they go away for a weekend or on holiday, so if the weather suddenly takes a turn for the worst people will be able to remotely control their heating.

The new product will be launching later this year, and it will allow the user to switch on or off the central heating system via a Smart phone from anywhere, at anytime. Which will mean that consumers will have total control over their heating. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Smart phone as you will also be able to control the system via a PC or by SMS.

British Gas anticipates that having more control over the heating will enable home owners to save money on heating throughout the year, and returning home to a cold home will be a thing of the past.
