Are You Turning Into A Hoarder?

Most of us are guilty of some kind of hoarding, whether it’s storing clutter in a room, loft or garage or just not clearing out our wardrobe. The process of hoarding can start quite easily; moving into a new home, and storing a couple of boxes, or moving into somewhere smaller, add a child into that equation and there will probably be a multitude of baby bits left over for just in case there is a later addition. Then add a few more gifts you don’t want, some DIY left over’s, clothes that you might possibly wear but never do, and you are well on your way to becoming a hoarder. Clearing out and selling old items can be very cleansing, but it’s important to do it on a regular basis, or the thought of having a clear out can seem overwhelming.
Here are our top tips to de-cluttering your home:
• Start by sorting out the easiest bits first
• Try and tackle a bit of clearing out everyday
• Set yourself a realistic goal
• Don’t feel guilty about getting rid of unwanted presents
• If you don’t need it, get rid of it
• Clothing – if you haven’t worn an item in the last year, then take it to a charity shop
