Increasing house values, stable tenancies and rising availability in buy to let mortgages are helping boost landlord’s returns.
Recent industry analysis by LSL Property Services has found that rents in England and Wales increased a total of 0.6% throughout June, whilst yields remained at a constant of 5.1% and total annual returns at a 4 year high. Now sitting at 12.2%, annual returns have increased a total of 6.9% since last year and now represent a typical annual return of £20,133 over the past year. If rental prices continued to increase at the same pace landlords could see their annual return top £23,718 in the coming 12 months.
