Winter Garden Sprucing Up…

Trying to sell your home this winter? Sprucing up your garden will really make it stand out from the crowd, so we have put together some ideas on how you can smarten it up for selling:

First of all clear up any left over leaves and dirt, and dig over your flower and vegetable beds. Well-defined lawns and boarders can make a really big difference to the look of a garden, so try and reshape the edges. Ensure that your entrance is properly lit, as this will make your home feel welcoming.

If you would like to add a bit of colour to your garden then here is a list of some winter dazzlers, place one of these near a porch or entrance and it will create a stunning blast of winter colour:

Sparkleberry Winterberry(Ilex ‘Sparkleberry’), this has bright red fruits which attract birds in winter.

Winter Red Winterberry(Ilex verticillata ‘Winter Red’) this has an abundance of red berries and is perfect for cold winter climates.

Redtwig Dogwood (Cornus sericea ‘Baileyi’) this has striking red branches and it makes a beautiful splash of colour throughout the bleakest winter months.

Maximise the amount of light coming through your windows, by giving them a good clean. A lovely warm home will also make your home feel more cosy and welcoming for potential buyers, and if you have one, lighting an open fire or wood burner will enable a potential buyer to imagine the type of lifestyle they could have in your home.
