What To Do In Herts And Essex This Bank Holiday Weekend

Not sure about what to do this Bank holiday weekend? The weather is expected to be a little hit and miss, but here are a few events we have picked out if you are stuck for ideas.

Bishop’s Stortford

Cirque De La Lune – Victorian freak show and circus themed musical

This two-day extravaganza takes place at the Half Moon this weekend  and will be crammed full of incredible live music featuring some great local acts – and a few from further afield too. Also including a barbecue and beer and cider festival, this unique event will be a great way to spend the August bank holiday weekend in Bishop’s Stortford.

Braintree + Chelmsford

Witham Beer Festival –. Fri-Sat

With over 30 different ales available all sourced from Essex Breweries including one from Witham as well as cider and a small selection of local wines the Witham Beer Festival promises to be a fun day out. The hall itself is located in Collingwood Road and with a large public car park opposite together with good rail connections. Witham is easy to reach by bus or train from Chelmsford or Braintree.

Medieval Re enactment and Family Fun day - Sun

Medieval reenactment plus 'Go Bonkers' Fun inflatables, prize for best dressed pram/ pushchair /wheelchair, Finer Diner mobile Catering, Gilliano's Ice cream,and more. @ Helena Romana School.


Royal British Legion Club Fun Day Sun

All are welcome to come and join the Royal British Legion Club and enjoy a number of attractions including Majorettes, Line Dancing, Belly Dancing, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Kiddies Corner, Balloon Modelling, Side Shows, Bric-a-Brac Stalls, Tombola and much more. Church Farm Craft & Supplier Fair, Royston, Sat

Come along to Church farm to see local crafts and suppliers selling their products. Open between 10:30- 15:30, The farm is free to enter and includes plenty of things to do. Come and take a walk around the farm, feed some of the animals and stop off for lunch in our cafe or the Jolly Waggoner pub accross the road! SG2 7AH.
