It’s at this time of year that we can really start to enjoy the outside space in our homes, so here are few tips on getting your patio ready for summer.
If you haven’t already done so now is the time to get the BBQ out ready for the summer months. If you love to BBQ outside why not set up your own summer kitchen, all you need is a few old kitchen units, which you can repaint to give a new lease of life.
• Create a dedicated area for eating and cooking, this will help to define the areas of your patio.
• Give everything a clean, dust down chairs, tables, and jet wash your paving area if needed.
• Brighten up the space by hanging some baskets – ones with herbs near the BBQ area are great, just put a few on the coals and it adds real flavour. Add a few planters with summer flowering annuals for a bit more colour.
• If your budget allows try and create a sheltered space for eating, so when our English summer disappoints you can still enjoy the sensation of eating cooking and eating outside.
If you want to create a flow inside and outside, use similar colours on your soft furnishings as those on your cushions outside. Layer cushions, add some throws and provide soft blankets. Adding a fire pit or outside heating to your patio will enable you to enjoy it for longer during the day too.
