Searching For A Place To Cool Off This Summer?

It’s great to have a proper hot English summer this year, however keeping cool can be a bit of a challenge, so we have provided a list of some of the water paddling pools and swimming pools across Essex, Herts and Cambridge.

Cherry Hinton water pool

Located in Cherry Hinton Park, this is a great place for the family to enjoy a great day out. There are two outdoor paddling pools, picnicking area and a fun park to enjoy.

Colleridge out door pool

Located on Davvy road, Cambridge, this has been recently refurbished and offers children a safe place to play whilst keeping cool in the water.

Abbey pools

If your children are too old to enjoy paddling pools then the Abbey Pools in Cambridge offer free entrance to children under 17 on specific days, please check out their website for more information. There is also a paddling pool for younger children and under 3’s go free.

The Priory Lido

This is a heated 30 metres outdoor pool, open throughout summer. Prices are £2 for children and £4 for adults. For more information please contact them by phone on 01920 460703.

North Herts Leisure Centre

In Letchworth, this is an indoor pool with the added bonus of a wave machine, prices start at £4.90 per session for more information please visit their website.

Braintree swimming pool centre

Children must be 8 years old and over, prices start a £4 per junior, and it has slides and interactive equipment, for more information please visit their website.

Handy hint: To avoid the crowds it’s always best to arrive early, before 10 am if possible, as this will ensure you find a parking space and a shady spot.
