If you are unfamiliar with the term 'Black Friday' it's when many stores give massive discounts for one day, the last day of November to customers either on-line or in stores. It originated from America, where sales start on the Friday after thanks giving, and take part of the Thanks Giving holidays. However since 2010 UK shops have embraced this day and offer huge savings for Christmas shoppers.
On Black Friday last year UK shoppers spent around £200 million in shops and on-line. This year Black Friday falls on the 28th November and stores such as John Lewis, Very.co.uk, Currys, Argos and Amazon have already geared themselves up for this massive pre-Christmas shopping spree. Economists are suggesting that this will be the biggest on line shopping day ever in the UK.
Amazon was one of the first companies to bring the idea of Black Friday to the UK, and since then many stores have followed suit. Customers are also gearing themselves up for this day, and many retailers are offering a sneak preview of what will be on sale on the day from electronics to home design kits.
