With valentines just days away and many of us still feeling the pinch from Christmas, why not consider spending Valentine’s day at home? You can do something special and romantic for your sweetheart this Valentine’s without breaking the bank and leaving the comfort of your own home. Here are some nice ways to make your Valentine feel special, without spending a fortune.
A fireside picnic
Bring the sofa closer to a roaring fire, place some champagne on ice and for an added touch, serve some strawberries to help draw out the flavour of the champagne (or drop some pomegranate seeds into the glass to turn the bubbly beautifully pink.
When your valentine gets home, draw a hot bath filled with rose petals. Since roses can be quite expensive around Valentines, you can ask your local florist for a bag of plain rose petals, even short stemmed roses, or even one’s that are slightly bruised as you will not be arranging them as part of a bouquet. Why not place a glass of wine and some chocolates on the side of the bathtub for your valentine to enjoy.
Once you have prepared the bathroom, get a basin of warm water and place it next to the bed and grab some great spa products and several washcloths. You might find some of these spa products in your home so have a cheap before spending extra money! Start off with a scrub, wash away then massage in a good body moisturizer. Afterwards the two of you can enjoy a home cooked meal or take away and watch a great romantic movie.
Romantically home cooked meal
