The latest industry report published by LSL Property services has revealed that house prices increased by an average of £2,500 last month, the largest monthly rise for nearly two years.
Bolstered by the highest number of house sales since 2008, the average house price now stands at a new high of £257,951. This is a 6% increase since the start of the year and underlines increasing confidence in the housing market. David Newnes, Director of Reeds Rains and Your Move estate agents owned by LSL adds “As we head into the typically busier spring period we are seeing a further strengthening of buyer demand. As with much of the country the crux of the issue that continues to push prices higher is shortage of supply.”
