Spring is a great time to show off a home to its full potential, lighter sunnier days create more light throughout a home and the garden often looks at its best, as plants and trees burst into bloom.
First of all make sure the front of your home looks at its best, make sure paths are wedded and are in good functioning order, if you have grass make sure it is cut and hedges are trimmed. Plant up planters and hanging baskets with colourful annuals.
Declutter clear away any unnecessary clutter from hallways and living areas, by either boxing them up and putting them into storage or finding a spare cupboard or loft space to put them in. Make sure that coats, shoes and so fourth are stored out of sight, as your hallway or porch will be the first thing your buyer sees as they walk over the threshold of their possible new home.
Stage your home with some fresh spring flowers, a blast of yellow and oranges will really bring in a fresh feel.
Make sure you finish off any DIY work and spruce up any marks on walls either by cleaning them or giving your paintwork a touch up.
Create a warm welcome by making sure your home feels warm, curtains/blinds are properly drawn, the smell of fresh bread always goes down well, illuminate all the lights throughout your property, even bedside lights, make sure that all of the doors in your property are open, which will make it feel lighter and give a better impression of space.
If you have a teenager or toddler make sure that there rooms look as neutral as possible, if possible re-paint any children themed walls, and change for a some more pastel shades, blues, pinks and greens are really in mode this year.
