According to new data new build properties are increasing in value at more than 10 times more than older properties.*
The latest figures from the land registry reveal that the cost of a new build is rising at an annual rate of 4.3% while existing homes are only increasing by just 0.3%. This is the same for across the UK where they state that new build properties are costing around £316,789, compared with £245,173 for other homes.
Zoopla state this is happening for a number of reasons that new build homes might be finished to a higher specification than older homes and a buyer can simply move in without having to spend any additional money or time on creating a nice living environment. Those new properties that come with swimming pools, gyms and concierge services will also lead to a higher asking price.
