This week was the 17th annual celebration of World Poetry Day and Intercounty is celebrating this year’s literature day by encouraging local school children, from a select amount of schools to take part in its competition to write a poem based on the theme of Zoo animals
Over the course of this week these poems will be showcased across the Intercounty Facebook branch pages, and Facebook followers will have the chance to choose their favourite poem, by LIKING their preferred entry. The child’s poem with the most amount of likes will win a family ticket to either London or Whispnade Zoo.

2016 Poetry Competition Rules:
A list of participating Intercounty branches is available from Intercounty, Boundary House, Stansted Road, Bishop’s Stortford CM23 2TH. Each participating branch is running its own Poetry competition within a selected number of schools.
Competition entries must be handed in at the relevant school office by 18th March. The poems entries will be upload to the relevant Intercounty Facebook branch on 21st March , where friends and family can like their favourite poem. The poem with the most likes from each school will win a family ticket to the zoo. One entry per named minor. The named minor must be under the age of 18 on 18th March 2016. Closing date for receipt of all entries to the relevant branch by 18th March 2016. The entry form must be completed by a parent or guardian and must name the participating minor.
Intercounty does not accept responsibility for lost or damaged entries. Entries that are altered, illegible or not in accordance with the rules of entry will be disqualified. There will be one winner for each participating school. The winner will be drawn on 31st March and winners poem will be displayed in the relevant Intercounty office window for 1 week and in the newspaper.
In relation to each participating branch, the prize consists of a gift family ticket (2 adults + 2 Children) to either London Zoo or Whipsnade Zoo for the minor named in the winning entry. £100 will be sent to the named school. The prize is non-transferable. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No cash alternative will be offered. The winners will be notified by phone or email no later than 31st March 2016. The winner must be willing to have their name and address published and may be required to take part in any post-event publicity including a photograph and their picture published in the paper. The name of the winner will be made available on request in writing.
Personal data supplied by the minor’s parent or guardian will only be used by ICIEA Limited or passed to LSL group companies in order to promote estate agency, lettings and financial services with the express written consent of the parent
or guardian. No promotional materials will be sent to the named minor or to the named school (other than competition entry forms). Entry to the competition is deemed acceptance of these rules.
