In a survey carried out by uSwitch which took into account 138 different UK cities and areas, data such as income, cost of living as well as broadband speeds and mobile phone reception they found that Hertfordshire ranked 3rd in the top places to live.
They also stated that Hertfordshire had some of the best employment statistics in the whole of the UK. The gross weekly income in Hertfordshire is above the average at £550.21, which means they have the highest disposable income out of all of the top ranked places, giving them £21,889 per year to spend.
The North Eastern part of the county offers the best value for money and also boast some picturesque villages with plenty of beautiful expanses of countryside. The county also has an abundance of gastro pubs. There are also some great schools in Herts for both primary and secondary children.
Country Life cited Bishop’s Stortford as being one of the most attractive villages in Hertfordshire with an easy commute into London.*2
