Getting your house ready for an autumn sale

Summer is a great time to sell your property, as family buyers will be looking to secure a new home before the start of the next school term.

One of the most important aspects of selling a home is to make sure it is priced accurately. Getting advice from a local agent such as Intercounty is invaluable as they will have a good knowledge of how much similar property has achieved in the local area.

Before putting your house on the market you will need to finish off any DIY jobs and repair work.

Depersonalise and declutter – this is very important as if a place seems cluttered it could appear smaller and by depersonalising your home a buyer will be able to better imagine themselves living there.

Make sure that your garden looks presentable – cut the grass, make sure any dead flowers in pots are replaced with new plants, weed paths and driveways.

The first thing a buyer will see is the front of your property, so make sure it has curb appeal. Any shabby paintwork will need to be dealt with, as well as making sure that the front garden looks tidy and any bins are out of sight.

If you would like some advice on how to present your home then why not pop into your local branch of Intercounty for a coffee or call our team on 01279 655248.
