From The Saturdays To The Associates

In 2004 Bob Jones and Caroline Rutherford embarked a new career path at Intercounty as Saturday girl and boy and now both have become Associate Directors with over 10 years of commitment and hard work.

Caroline Rutherford started in November 2000 as a Saturday girl, this then became a couple of days a week as a junior negotiator where she did viewings, helped to order photography and create property details.

Caroline decided to embark on full time role as Sales Negotiator in Great Dunmow with Andrew Kershaw.  As she developed her skills she took on a Senior Sales Negotiators role and gained more experience in Lettings and worked one day a week to Park Lane to help launch the Fine and Country brand.  In 2010 Caroline was promoted to Lettings Manager at Bishops Stortford where she has grown the business from strength to strength.

What are Caroline thoughts ‘’The introduction of the Internet and Social Media has completely changed our business but the fundamentals of the business remain the same…people people people.  Intercounty are a great company to work for, they develop and promote from within, recognising everyone’s strengths and being flexible to their needs’’

Having worked on the Stock Market for 20 years Bob Jones decided a change was need, leaving the house at 6am and coming home at 7pm family time was limited.

Bob decided to put his house on the market and Jon Cooke Director of Intercounty came to value it. They struck up the conservation of changing his occupation and Bob asked Jon if there were any opportunities at Intercounty which Jon suggested working as a Saturday boy. Bob juggled commuting to London and his Saturday job for a month and decided that working at Intercounty was the career path he wanted to take. Starting off as a junior he has worked his way up to Head Valuations Manager and is an invaluable member of the team.

What are Bob`s thoughts “Its such a great office, friendly and vibrant. I love my job which I spend 80% off my day out of the office on valuations and meeting people. My quality of life has approved greatly.”
