If you are looking to buy a bigger house, close to excellent schools within commutable distance to the Capital then the county of Essex and North Herts still offer great value for money.

The average house price in Essex is £241,278 much lower than London which currently stands at £454,644 and the neighbouring county of Herts, where currently the average house stands at £324,394.

However the town of Royston and environs in North Herts, and within a 50 minutes commute of the capital still offers great value for money. For example this three bed, three reception, detached house in Melbourn near Royston is currently on the market for offers over £280,000, could also generate a rental return of £950 pcm.

Essex also offers great value for money, towns such as Chelmsford and Brentwood have become quite expensive over the past few years, but if you are prepared to head for some of the smaller villages just outside such as Great Notely you can still buy property at a great price. For example we have this detached family house with 5/6 bedrooms currently for sale, with four shower rooms, double garage and gardens for £430,000. Featured in the photo.
