Economic Growth Signals Improving Property Sector

April 16th 2012

Mark Bygott, Director of Intercounty, West Bridgford shares his views on the property market - Just as we seem set to dust down the barbecues and drag out the sun loungers the fickle weather has the last laugh. Talk of snow where previously the talk had been of record temperatures, but maybe this is what we will have to get used to in the future.

Fantastic news from the Chambers of Commerce who think we have managed to avoid a 'double dip' recession and that conditions in the economy are at long last showing signs of improvement. Here at Mark Bygott Intercounty we can see some evidence of this with sales agreed in March the strongest we have experienced for several years. Buyers are still looking for value but have seemed more prepared to commit, viewing levels have also improved across the board and sales have straddled the price band with flats at £110,000 to country homes at £700,000.

For those vendors who listed between January and March you could end up paying us NO FEES. Your property is being entered into a draw and one lucky client is going to save paying any commission. We are still on the look out for a local celebrity to make the draw which will take place after Easter. Watch this space.

We are delighted to welcome the newest member of our team Ellie Gibson, who after sampling the delights of Liverpool University has decided estate agency is more to her taste! She has been with us but a short time but already shows she has the personality to prosper. In addition we have been providing Tim Hulett with some work experience(3 days) while he is on holiday from teaching at one of our local schools. It is often difficult to provide more than a modest sound bite to anyone in that time but Tim seems to be soaking it all up. He has brought a relaxed and charming demeanour with him and we wish him all the best for his future.
