Harwood
Harwood is a suburb of Bolton, and Greater Manchester.
Situated 2½ miles north east of Bolton, on the picturesque West Pennine Moors, lie the villages of Harwood, Bradshaw and neighbouring Bromley Cross.
These charming, small villages are set on the edge of beautiful open countryside with reservoirs and country parks all within reach, yet there is each access to the motorway for commuting to the North or South.
Each village is served by a good range of local amenities which include supermarkets, local bakers and butchers, newsagents, doctors dentists and chemists amongst others.
For additional shopping and choice of eating the easily accessible Bolton town centre offers full shopping and dining out facilities as does the Trafford Centre at Manchester.
There two local rail stations provide easy access to Manchester, Bolton and Blackburn.
Night life is provided by the range of friendly local restaurants and pubs to choose from.
Originally a small village within the former Turton Urban District, but now a small part of the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Harwood is mostly residential, with a few businesses concentrated around a Morrisons supermarket at its centre.
Neighbouring districts include Affetside, Bradshaw and Breightmet.
