You're Not Fired!
Mark Bygott Intercounty have bucked the trend by offering a permanent job as property negotiator to Ellie Gibson, who joined the firm a year ago on an apprenticeship scheme.   Ellie approached Intercounty for a job last year after deciding university life was not for her and she wished to pursue a career in the property industry.   Mark Bygott, Director at Intercounty was keen to give Ellie an opportunity to sample life in Estate Agency but wasn't actively looking to recruit at that time. It occurred to him that if Ellie had taken the initiative to approach him and was prepared to join on an Apprenticeship Scheme, this might be the solution. 'Ellie knew a bit about our profession as her family had brought and sold through us 4 years ago.'   In the 12 months that Ellie has been with Intercounty she has learnt both on the job and at college studying for an NVQ. Feedback from clients has been very positive and whilst you never cease learning there is no doubt that the scheme has worked well for Ellie. As a business, Intercounty are keen to provide vital work experience to those seeking a career in property and are talking to candidates about short term Internships for students studying property related degrees.Mark Bygott Intercounty have bucked the trend by offering a permanent job as property negotiator to Ellie Gibson, who joined the firm a year ago on an apprenticeship scheme.
