The Property Cycle Blog - Day 13 In The Big Brother House

Jon Cooke, director at  Intercounty has been cycling around the UK to help raise money for the estate agency foundation. Here is his lastest blog about his journey.

Actually every day feels a bit déjà-vu. It is actually not Big Brother it is more a travelling circus - two support vehicles, trailers, now two camper vans, four dogs and two kids. We are a bit like a travelling circus wherever we go and the support team have even bought a massive Gazebo that looks like a marquee.

We started the day in Prestatyn, having stayed in definitely the worst campsite in the UK, which included a visit by the police overnight. Paul from Briefyourmarket joined us for this stage and new to cycling he did extremely well, the pace again being governed by Sam Linley.

We stuck to the coast for the first part of the ride and then stopped at various estate agents along the way to champion the EAF cause and collected some sponsorship along the way. Actually it is getting quite entertaining visiting the estate agents. The Guild of Professional Estate Agents have really got behind the EAF and our charity cycle ride by suggesting that agents organise pit stops for us at their offices and this tends to involve lots and lots of home made cake which is incredibly embarrassing when sometimes the last thing you want to see is another iced bun with hundreds and thousands on.

The picture above shows Sam being force fed yet more cake by Carol, head of Lettings for Clive Watkins Estate Agents in the Wirral. But honestly it’s great that estate agency colleagues across the country have got behind the Estate Agency Foundation and its work with the homeless.

The day finished with a flat coastal cycle to Southport which my son Freddie joined us on for the last 5 miles and then we enjoyed an evening reception with some of the local Fine & Country agents (one of our main sponsors) in Southport. Lots of sandwiches but we passed on the cake! Total mileage to date 811. Thank you again to our stage sponsors Briefyourmarket and also to one of our main sponsors Myhomemove.
