The villages of Great Chesterford and Felsted have been named among five of the best commuter villages in the UK. The villages were recognised as two of the best villages for people working in London by Homes and Property, who stated that they were chosen because they offer quick links into London, good value homes and pretty countryside.

The village of Great Chesterford has a lot to offer, its proximity to junction 9 of the M11 between Saffron Walden and Cambridge makes it an easy commute into the capital. Commuters can also commute by train within 1 hour and 10 minutes they can be in Liverpool Street. An annual season tickets costs £5,456.

Great Chesterford has an Ofsted ‘outstanding’ rated primary school, there are some really handy village shops and two pubs. There is also a village pond, the perfect place to feed the ducks after school and a really good recreation area. It’s easy to get into Cambridge and Saffron Walden for shopping.

Felsted is a beautiful village situated between Bishop’s Stortford and Braintree. Commuters can travel to Braintree, only 7 miles and will be able to travel into London within 58 minutes. The village is lined with timber buildings and period cottages. There are also several pubs, a post office, butchers and general store.
