If you are on a budget this Christmas or would simply like to create your own Christmas wreath we have put some ideas together on how you can make yours.

To start your wreath you will need to buy a wire ring from your local florist, and some twine and wire to attach the items of your choice to your wreath.

If you would like to create a traditional style wreath you will then need to cover the wire with either moss, or greenery such as; ivy, Christmas tree branches and so fourth.

You can decorate your wreath with anything, Christmas tree branches, pinecones, sliced oranges, cinnamon sticks, Christmas tree decorations, twigs and leaves. A great way to dry fruit is to cut them into 1 cm slices, and placing them on a rack and leave them in the oven on 120c for about 2-3 hours turning them two to three times. If you put them on a baking tray they tend to stick.

For the more unusual wreaths you could make one from marshmallows, sweets, pop corn, gingerbreads, cinnamon sticks, nuts, dried orange peel, we even found some designs made from Brussel sprouts mixed with box hedging for more ideas check out this website.

Once you have chosen the style of wreath you would like to make you will then need to attach the items working in a clock wise direction and winding twine and wire to the wire ring.

If you would like to share your homemade wreaths with us then we would love to see them on our Facebook page.
