Nottingham

Famed for its links with the legend of Robin Hood and during the Industrial Revolution, Nottingham, has also obtained worldwide recognition for its lace-making and bicycle industries. It is the seventh largest urban conurbation in the United Kingdom, ranking between those of Liverpool and Sheffield, and is the largest in the East Midlands.

Nottingham is a vibrant and wonderfully diverse place to be, with world class award winning restaurants sitting happily alongside independent delis and cafes. The shops too can't be beaten, with stylish shopping boutiques and two large shopping centres all within the city centre.

There is also a wealth of culture in Nottingham, with such visitor attractions such as Nottingham Castle, theatres, art centres, galleries and the Tales of Robin Hood. It's a great place for your family to live, because there's always so much to see and do.

Looking for a home in the town centre, sees a choice of the mix of loft style apartments in the Lace Market or the magnificent Victorian built Park Estate by the Castle with its gas lit street lights, while further out, there are the traditional two and three storey terraced housing in Radford, The Meadows and Sherwood .If traditional bay front suburban semis are your thing, then Nottingham provides areas like Wollaton, Beeston, Mapperley and Mapperley Park, Woodthorpe and Arnold, whereas if you want to live in the countryside, then there are some excellent villages like Woodborough and Burton Joyce.

Nottingham itself, is home to the headquarters of many well-known companies like Boots the Chemists, Experian, the energy company EON UK, the tobacco company John Player & Sons, betting company Gala Group, amusement and gambling machine manufacturer Bell-Fruit-Games, engineering company Siemens, sportswear manufacturers Speedo, high street opticians Vision Express, games and publishing company Games Workshop (creator of the popular Warhammer series), PC software developer Serif Europe (publisher of PagePlus and other titles), Web hosting provider Heart Internet, the American credit card company Capital One, whose European offices are situated by the side of Nottingham railway station.
