About the Town

Cottingham lies to the north-west of the city of Kingston upon Hull and with a population of around 18,000, claims to be the largest village in England. All basic shops and amenities can be found in Cottingham itself but with the city of Hull just a bus ride (or train stop) away, this opens the door to an abundance of further shopping - Princes Quay shopping centre being one of the newest.

Four primary schools, Cottingham High School and The Lawns campus for the University of Hull provide an excellent choice of local education. Such influences have led to the re-development of the now trendy areas around Newland Park and Princes Street, with many bistros and wine bars. If you like your sport and exercise, look no further than the Cottingham Golf Club with 18 hole course, gym and swimming pool complex, Total Fitness on the ring road and David Lloyd tennis centre in Kingswood.

Cottingham’s own railway station on the Yorkshire Coast line with half hourly services covering Hull, Beverley, Scarborough and Bridlington. Brough railway station is only 12 miles away, provides parking and you can travel across to York, Leeds, Manchester and even direct to London Kings Cross. The M62 is easily accessible with Humberside International Airport lies just 21 miles away.
